Old estate find..... July 20, 1961 DOWN BEAT THE MUSIC MAGAZINE (mag).....
This vintage music mag is loaded with great old articles , photos and great ads (advertising). Page after Page of Classic Jazz Goodness plus a Fender Catalog Insert........
Some of the articles, photos and reviews feature jazz greats and legends such as Miles Davis, Sam Lightnin' Hopkins, Jazz Festivals and Concerts, Dave Brubeck, Jimmy Raney, Bill Harris, Wes Montgomery, Charlie Christian, Folk Music, Jazz Records Buyers Guide and Reviews.
The original print ads are a fantastic collection that features Harmony Electric Guitars, Rickenbacker Amp, Art Taylor Plays Gretsch Drums, Camco Drums, Fender Guitars and Amps Catalog "Fine Electric Instruments" , Ed Thigpen Ludwig Drums, Chet Atkins Gretsch Guitars, Goya Guitars, Rogers Drum Company Swiv O Matic Foot Pedal, Ecco Fonic, Dave Bailey Slingerland Drums, Gibson Guitars Johhny Smith, Blue Note and Verve Records plus many many more. These would look great framed.
Book is in nice solid complete shape (72 pages counting front back covers and factory subscription coupon inserts(page11,12 and 61,62) with some age reading use wear (edge corner wear, some edge chipping on the bottom of cover and the first 10 to 15 pages or so near spine, see pix).. Fender Catalog pages are in great shape (See Pix).
Interior pages are in good shape. (The pinkish cast on the auction photos is from the lighting). No smoke or mildew smells. Great addition to your late 1950's early 1960's Jazz Blues music collection.
