Praise for this book by John Houseman, who began his work in the U.S., with the Federal Theatre: "Without doubt it is the most complete and personal story of the Federal Theatre that I have read."
With photographs, including one of Eleanor Roosevelt in a truck, on her way to see a Federal Theatre performance.
With drawings by Don Freeman, made when he was working on the Federal Theatre Project.
Chapter titles include:
*Hanging the Show, August 27, 1935
* The Show Goes On, 1937-1938
* Ringing Down the Curtain, June 30, 1939
The dust cover has some scuffing and a small rip, and the original owner's name is written on the inside front cover. But otherwise this book (which was bought by a college professor of theatre for a research project, which was abandoned) is in Excellent condition.
