SLAPSTICK SKELTON
Well, he was up there just a sec ago;
I saw him standing there with my own eyes.
But where he is right now, I’d like to know.
How could he vanish . . . someone of his size?
A Copperfield . . . Houdini, he is not,
And magic isn’t how he woos the folks:
But he makes everybody laugh a lot
With slapstick comedy, and skits, and jokes.
So, how’d he disappear in front of me?
My eyes aren’t bad for someone of my age!
One minute he was there for all to see;
The very next . . . he’d fallen off the stage.

has written almost 1000 poems/songs
owns poetry business (Poetic Potpourri Concepts) since July, 2003
was Poetry Awards director/judge for three years (Sept. 1998-Sept. 2001)
has been published more than 200 times in various magazines, newspapers, books, etc.

has won almost 200 poetry contests (many 1st, 2nd 3rd-place winnings)
