Description: My husband collected this early version of a trading card, picking them up at our local Fair purchasing them from dispensing machines that they had there. It was called the Royal American Fair which travelled to our small city at the time. This is a photo of PHIL HARRIS and ALICE FAYE from NBC complete with reprints of their autographs. It measures 5 1/4" by 3 1/4" on cardstock with "Printed in U.S.A.".
The Phil Harris-Alice Faye Show, an old-time radio situation comedy which ran from 1948 to 1954 on the NBC radio network, evolved from an earlier music and comedy variety program, The Fitch Bandwagon. Singer-bandleader Phil Harris and his wife, actress-singer Alice Faye became the earlier show's breakout stars and the show was retooled into a full sitcom, with Harris and Faye playing slightly fictionalized versions of themselves as a working radio and musical couple raising two young daughters in a slightly madcap home. (I did not know these stars well - too young, isn't Wikipedia wonderful ;)
