She joined the Australian Performing Group in 1970 when it moved to the Pram Factory, Carlton. Her performances with the company included A Toast to Melba, Don's Party and Dimboola. Other theatre credits include Romeo and Juliet, As you Like It and The Floating World with the Melbourne Theatre Company and Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Away and Ginger with Playbox Theatre Company. Her film credits include Dimboola, The Sound of One Hand Clapping and Quigley Downunder and her television credits include Boys From the Bush, Flying Doctors and Blue Heelers. In 1976 Evelyn Krape won Best Actress, from the National Critics' Circle for her performance as Nellie Melba in A Toast to Melba. Jack Hibberd was born near Bendigo, Victoria, and studied Medicine at the University of Melbourne. While practising as a doctor, Hibberd wrote poetry and plays, and White With Wire Wheels was produced at the University of Melbourne in 1967. Soon after this success, Hibberd was a founding member of the La Mama Company, which became the Australian Performing Group and performed many of his early plays.
