This is a copy of the speeding ticket that James Dean received just hours before he died in that fatal crash. My husband worked for the Kern County Sheriff's department and obtained this. Please note that it is not the original, but the story is that the original "disappeared" and can not be found. It is interesting to have, due to the facts it lists (full name, address, birthday, car type, plate #, driving conditions) and because JD signed it. I'm not sure if it's the last piece of paper that he ever signed, but it was definitely one of the last. The shipping is more than a letter stamp, because I will send it in either a hard, cardboard envelope, or between two pieces of cardboard, to protect it from arriving all creased or wrinkled.
