Hank’s Hat
Has anybody seen Hank’s hat?
He lost it in the sage.
If Hank can’t find out where it’s at,
Then he won’t go on stage:
For never does he do a show
Without his Stetson on
So, help me find it; Hank won’t know
Just where his hat has gone.
Ten-gallon hats are his trademark.
(Oh, yes, he’s proud of them!)
It won’t be long until it’s dark
And I’ve searched leaf and stem.
The show’s at eight . . . and I’m concerned,
If we don’t find it soon,
That Hank won’t sing them songs he’s learned,
Like, “Howlin’ at the Moon,”
“I Saw the Light,” and “Weddin’ Bells,”
“Kaw-Liga,” “Cold, Cold Heart,”
And other tunes that rise in sells
And climb right up the chart. . . .
“But, why’s his hat among sagebrush
And not upon his head?”
He had too many beers to flush
And used it for his bed.
