Promotional booklet with black wraps and a pasted down photographic portrait of Ms. Le Gallienne to front. In 1926 Le Gallienne established America’s first classical repertory theatre, The Civic Repertory, which operated from 1926-1935. The booklet contains a tribute to Ms. Gallienne; excerpts from the introduction to “Civic Repertory Plays” published in 1928 by W.W. Norton Co.; a short history of the Old Fourteenth Street Theatre with illustration; short bios and photographs of the permanent acting company; a silhouette portrait or Ms. Le Galleinne as Peter Pan. The booklet is in good condition, two bottom corners of back wrapper chipped, front bottom corner chipped, top front corner creased. 12”, unpaginated (16 pages), illustrated with black and white photographs and drawings.
