For this auction, we're offering the rare feature-length teleplay from the delightful 1990 biographical TV movie "THE DREAMER OF OZ" starring the late John Ritter as L. Frank Baum, creator of the beloved "WIZARD OF OZ" series. This much beloved, though frustratingly obscure masterpiece has been a fan favorite of 'OZ' fans around the globe. The film has reportedly only aired twice -- first on NBC on December 10, 1990, then a second time the following year, though has never been released on DVD or video. This delightful 107-page pre-production script was written by famed author Richard Matheson (I AM LEGEND, THE TWILIGHT ZONE, THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN) based on the story by Matheson and the film's producer, David Kirschner (AN AMERICAN TAIL, CHILD'S PLAY, MISS POTTER). The story recounts the author's colorful life as told by his widow, Maud (Annette O'Toole) at the world premiere of MGM's "THE WIZARD OF OZ" starring Judy Garland in 1939. This exceptional xerox script is being offered on a NO RESERVE basis with a low opening bid of $4.99. As an added BONUS, the lucky winner will also receive the deluxe limited edition soundtrack showcasing the complete original television score by composer Lee Holdridge, best known for such genre favorites as THE MISTS OF AVALON, SPLASH and CBS-TV's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Holdridge's soaring melodies include exquisite new themes for The Emerald City's most beloved characters, including Dorothy, The Scarecrow and The Cowardly Lion. This deluxe CD also includes a full-color 32-page booklet with detailed liner notes by Randall Larson, including interviews with Holdridge, Producer David Kirschner, make-up effects artist Craig Reardon, plus a wealth of rare, unpublished materials from the collection of Willard Carroll, the best-selling author of "100 YEARS OF OZ," "I, TOTO," and one of the world's leading historians of Baum and "THE WIZARD OF OZ." Buyer pays $5.00 for Priority Mail shipping. Payment is due by PayPal, check or money order with 7 days of the close of auction.
