This unique poem about Dale Earnhardt, Sr. is one of many "Celebrity Pic-Poems" written by the same poet. Each poem is written in a Traditional, easy to understand style as you can see this one is. This particular poem is a series of Quatrains.
This poem is about Dale's last race . . . which I contend that he finished it. . . .
On the left inside of the card is the poem; on the right inside of the card is a neat photo of Dale and Number 3; and on the outside of the card is a little information about Dale (brief bio and some words about the poem).
Its dimensions are-8 inches high and 10 inches wide. It is laminated to give it a beautiful glossy appearance and to protect it forever!
To my knowledge, these are one of a kind poems, making them VERY RARE! Your "Dale" poem will be a wonderful addition to your collection of Dale Earnhardt, Sr./ NASCAR memorabilia!
MAKES A PERFECT GIFT FOR A BIRTHDAY, CHRISTMAS, VALENTINE'S DAY, ANNIVERSARY, ETC.!!!!
WHERE ELSE CAN YOU FIND A SPECIFIC POEM WRITTEN ABOUT SUCH A FAMOUS PERSON?
Last-Lap (?)
As he was on the final lap
And on the final turn,
That’s when he had his last mishap:
And soon the crowd would learn
That just as soon as Number 3
Hit the retaining wall,
As minor as it seemed to be,
That’s not the case at all:
For when the car slid off the track
And rested toward Turn 4,
Earnhardt would not be coming back
To drive it anymore.
And Waltrip won the race—it’s true;
But never was it told
That Dale completed his lap, too,
Upon a track of gold.
