December 1983 – a quarter century ago this year – was the world premiere of Pacific Northwest Ballet’s acclaimed production of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker,” staged in Seattle with a major re-imagining by Maurice Sendak of the E.T.A. Hoffmann story on which the ballet is based, and featuring Sendak’s spectacular new sets and costumes.
This is the original poster for the 1983 world premiere production. Excellent condition. Dimensions: 18” x 26”. Four-color printing on heavy matte-finish stock. Flat; shipped rolled in a tube.
In addition to marking its 25th anniversary, the 2008 "Nutcracker" season will be presenting its 1000th performance.
